What is Compost?

When organic matter is %50 of our household waste,

recycling organic waste into compost , is the best  & fastest

way to reduce our ecological footprint.

Compost is rich organic, environmentally safe  soil  fertilizer.

Compost is created from organic materials that have decomposed and can be return to the soil and nourish it.

Composting is the best way to recycle organic waste.  All fruit, vegetables and plant eventually decompose. In order to expedite the decomposing process, and prevent unmonitored decay, you create compost.

When the compost is ready it contains approximately 60%-70% of organic material, which is the first stage of transforming the organic waste into “earth” as we know it.

Today,  home waste contains on the average, 50% of organic waste and garden waste contains the average of 60%-70% of organic waste.

When you throw this kind of waste into the regular garbage bin , it goes straight to public dumps. There this waste becomes a serious environmental hazard – un aerobic decomposing (composting without air) of organic waste, creates Methan gas (CH4) .

Methan gas increases the global heating phenomenon by contributing to the  greenhouse syndrome.

In addition, this waste can cause soil contamination and earth water contamination.

On the other hand – if you use this organic waste and compost  – this waste will become a natural fertilizer, which reduces the need to use harmful chemical fertilizers .

Compost improves the physical texture of your garden’s soil, it enables better water retention and ventilation, helps save on water and improves your plants durability against diseases, especially ones that originate from soil.
