The second range of composting toilets by Sun Mar are the central composting toilet systems.

These toilets are ideal for those who would like a regular looking toilet to fit in with their bathroom.

Another feature of these is if you would like to connect more than one toilet to one composting unit, so they can be better for houses with multiple bathrooms or a lot of people living in the house hold.

They are normally placed under or outside the bathroom, and the unit itself is usually installed around 15 to 20 ft away from the bathroom itself.

Sun Mar self contained composting toilet units are usually installed directly into the bathroom, and can be available in both electric and non electric versions. There are a few differences between the electric and the non electric composting toilets. The electric units plug into a regular three pin outlet to power a fan and a thermostatically operated heating unit element in the base of the unit. The unit is then normally unplugged if it not going to used for more than 3 days, so if you’re going on holiday you can unplug the toilet in order to save on electricity. The composting capacity varies with the size of the Bio-drum, and electric units normally have a larger capacity than non electric units, because they have extra heat and air movement.

There are many reasons as to why people chose to use composting toilets over the general conventional flush toilet, one of these can be to avoid septic tank construction that requires the elimination of tree and could have a bad effect on the ground itself.
